Stephanie Work to Gym Hair

Is there any greater authority on the cross-disciplines of Beauty, Hair & Fitness than Stephanie Jordan?  Probably not. So we asked Stephanie to photo-blog a simple hairstyle and product routine to take us (looking great) from Work to Workout.

You can book in-salon services with Stephanie through Grand’s booking portal, check out her work on Instagram @stephanie_j_hair and see her compete live (bodybuilding/fitness/physique) in the NPC Brave Heart Classic on August 25th.

Before Gym

Step 1:  Decide where you want the bun to sit, hold it in place and make a ponytail.

Step 2: Wrap your ponytail half way to make a small bun.

Step 3: Take the bottom half of your ponytail and wrap it around your small bun.

Step 4: Pin down parts of the bun for structure.

Step 5: Pull the bun to expand.

Step 6: *Note: There should be ends left out.

Step 7: Repeat on the other side, wrap and pin to the back.

Step 8: Pull the bun to expand.

Step 9: Pin any loose, unwanted pieces into your bun.

Step 10: Pull the front & back smoothed hair to create an effortless and full look.

Step 11: Leave out/pull out whispies on the hairline.

Finished look!

*Use a Dry Shampoo in the morning before work to create texture and to hold your style, and to help retrieve the natural oils in your hair.

*After the gym, use a Co-Wash!  Co-washing is short for “condition-only washing.”  It means skipping shampoo and relying solely on conditioner – whether you’re a daily or a weekly washer.  The result is something between squeaky-clean and second-day hair – that is, hair that’s smoother, softer, and easier to manage.  And it’s a great post-workout solution.  It’ll cleanse you sweaty hair and scalp without the harshness of regular shampoos, while still keeping your hair conditioned.

And throughout August, when you purchase any Co-Wash at grand, you’ll receive 30% Off your favorite Dry Shampoo!
